Asplundh Tree Expert LLC Compliance Specialist in Detroit, Michigan
We are currently seeking a Compliance Specialist to join our team.
Objective of the Position:
Ensure compliance with regulations and company policies
Audit compliance with Federal and State regulations with respect to: I-9 compliance, Identity theft, Workers Compensation procedures, DOT Compliance, etc…
Monitor and input data into company systems for retrieval.
Work with Field Management to ensure compliance with set policy and procedures.
No Direct Reports
Will directly work with field and field management employees in person and by phone
Will interact with other administrative employees
Position will be based in Region Office. Will involve occasional travel to the field operations. Limited overnight travel.
Occasional out of town travel will occur (2-3 times per year)
Main tasks will be to audit data from field operations and input that data into company systems.
Will work with Field Management to ensure that standard policies and practices are being implemented and help to train Field Management in these areas.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
Must show high levels of professionalism and confidentiality.
Able to work relatively unsupervised and still perform at a high level.
Must be able to perform general clerical/administrative duties when time permits.
Competency or Position Requirements:
Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time.
Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Must be able to travel to field locations.
Must be able to work inside and outside in various weather conditions to perform audits.
Excellent Communication skills both written and oral.
Strong computer skills with MS Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs. and walk on uneven surfaces when in the field
Completion of a Background Check and Drug Test will be required
Education and Experience:
High School degree or equivalent experience required, some college or technical school a plus
Minimum of 5 years work experience
Ability to understand/speak Spanish a plus, but not a requirement.
